History

The Ohio Association of Senior Centers (OASC) was formed as a

non-profit organization in 1959 by a senior center director,

Muriel Bertsch. She and many of her colleagues formed the

association to promote senior centers through advocacy,

professional development, communication and networking.

The leadership of OASC recognize our differences in purpose

and scope but celebrate our common factor: the clients we serve.

As we begin a new millennium, OASC has benefited

senior centers from across the state from every

Planning and Service Area for more than 40 years.

OASC looks forward to a new century of senior centers serving

Ohio's older adults with dignity and respect.
